Welcome to a revolutionary experiment in media, myth, and meaning!

This web page is host to an interconnected, evolving network of scenes and conversations. In them, fictional characters embodying a wide variety of identities, histories, ideologies, and attitudes trace the struggle and possibility of being alive in our time. Our hope is that these stories will conjure as well as reflect.

You're invited to help.

If you identify with a perspective carried by one these characters -- or know and respect those who do -- you're invited to edit and refine and delete or add to their words, to help them speak more wisely and well.

One good way to do this is to transcribe a conversation that is meaningful or interesting to you. Then we'll refine it together. Another is to take one of these scenes, act it out with some friends, and then update the text with what you discovered along the way.

You may also add new characters. But please only create someone new if it would be a stretch to integrate into an existing voice. Beware character bloat!

In new and existing scenes, add tags that make sense and help link related pages together. As the scene-web grows, these will become a primary way to navigate a transect through it.

Remember: currently there's just a single version of the site. Your contributions may be reversed or superseded (though you'll always be able to see old versions of a page's history). Soon, however, the goal is to make branches of the site available -- as many as maintainers are able to keep clean. Then you and your friends can choose your own preferred versions, and link them as you will.

Sometimes, people explore revolutionary organization, together, across difference. What are the pitfalls and possibilities of leadership? What is the scope of revolution: a deep transformation within, or beyond global civilization?

Here, together, some of us are tracing the possibility of emergent living wisdom. We are characters in a novelization of the world. We conspire to make a novel world real. What on earth can that mean? We're learning to find out.

One of the best uses of this format is to represent the complexity of political debate, and practice, as in this example about connection to the earth, and texts.
