Mary

I'm an assistant professor of interdisciplinary studies at PSU. I did my Ph.D in women's studies: in particular, the use of masculinizing violence in girl gangs in Spokane, Washington, and the implications for a theory of postmodern gender formation.

I love salsa dancing. Azucar!

Just in case you didn't pick up on it, I'm aware how much the above sounds like a LinkedIn profile. My life as an academic certainly involves multiple levels of reflexivity, including my awareness of my own participation in identitarian discourses of self that reproduce packaged personae in moments that otherwise might involve greater self-revelation.

But, after all, I don't really know you. Not yet, anyway.

Maybe I can interest you in some salsa dancing?
